MLB Offseason Fantasy Impact
Miguel Cabrera, 3B, Detroit Tigers - Already one of the best hitters in the league, Cabrera moves to one of the best offensive lineups in the AL and in a better hitters park. All of his numbers should improve from this move.
Projection: .330 AVG, 35 HR, 85 BB, 115 R, 125 RBI Miguel Tejada, SS, Houston Astros - Tejada moves to Minute Maid Park where he will face the weaker pitching of the NL Central division. His numbers should improve with Hunter Pence and Lance Berkman hitting around him.
Projection: .310 AVG, 25 HR, 40 BB, 90 R, 90 RBI Kosukue Fukudome, OF, Chicago Cubs - Fukudome comes to the US with a high career OBP in Japan and will likely be placed near the top of a powerful Cubs lineup. Typically, power numbers should be reduced by 1/3 to translate from Japan to the MLB but his good eye should keep his OBP high.
Projection: .290 AVG, 25 HR, 90 BB, 95 R, 80 RBI Nick Swisher, OF, Chicago White Sox - Swisher moves to the Cell after a season that saw his home run total drop by nearly 40%. He has always produced a lot of walks with a good eye at the plate, and the Cell is a very home run friendly park. This trade will definately benefit him.
Projection: .260 AVG, 35 HR, 100 BB, 90 R, 90 RBI Brad Lidge, RP, Philadelphia Phillies - Lidge has become unpredictable in the last few years but he moves to Philly as the closer and we know the team has potential to win a lot of games. Lidge will always produce strikeouts and if he can pull it together in the new location, he could be one of the best closers in the MLB.
